Knitting for Beginners
Instructor: Rachel McDermott
Rachel has been knitting for 24 years. She started with a square and then progressed to whatever was needed for her children. She has knitted toys, a myriad of socks, scarves, blankets, dolls and cat toys. Knitting is a great social activity, and this class allows you to socialize with yarn lovers who wish to learn to the joys of creating colorful patterns and objects.
Have you always wanted to learn how to knit but didn’t know how to get started. Take this beginners’ class to learn all the basics. Learn how to cast on, cast off, knit garter stitch and stockinette stitch and swap project goals. No prior experience needed. Start a project and share camaraderie among like-minded knitters. Bring your own yarn and needles. (Beginners students should get single sided size 7 or 8 knitting needles and yarn to fit that size needle)
