My Garden Story Walk
What is a Story Walk?
A Story Walk is an innovative and engaging way for children and families to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Pages from the following two stories will be displayed on signs along a walking trail. As you stroll down the path, you’ll read the story page by page.  Complete the activity pages for a prize. The activity pages can be downloaded here.  Town of Malta Parks, Recreation & Human Services: Story Walk.  Return the completed activity sheet to the Malta Community Center for a prize.

The Wonky Donkey September 1-October 31 
Come join us for a fun and interactive Story Walk featuring the hilarious and heartwarming book The Wonky Donkey by Craig Smith, with illustrations by Katz Cowley!

Bonus Activity – Donkey Headband Art Project
After enjoying the walk, kids are invited to complete a fun and creative donkey headband craft! Use your imagination to color and decorate your donkey ears and assemble a wearable headband inspired by our favorite character.

Dinos in the Snow by Karma Wilson, November 10-December 31
Bundle up and stomp into winter fun with our Dinos in the Snow Story Walk®!  Dinos in the Snow is a playful story following a group of adventurous dinosaurs as they explore snowy landscapes, build snow-dinos, and enjoy chilly weather play.

Bonus Activity-Dino Scavenger Hunt.  Download the activity sheet and take a scavenger hunt. Match the dinosaurs on the story walk pillar to the worksheet.  The last page will feature a mystery dinosaur.  Let us know what is special about the last dinosaur, and you will win a prize.  For added fun, download our fake snow recipe.
